Roemer Industries builds the ROAM medical-grade refrigerators and freezers. Portable, durable, self-contained and temperature controlled, our units move easily on wheels and will maintain power from a chargeable battery to protect blood, plasma, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, or any materials sensitive to temperature variation. Roemer also manufacturers a remote blast freezer for plasma collection called PLASMAROAM Freezer and a reusable shipping container to maintain ultra-low temperatures for shipping biological material at -70° C for three days. The ROAM brand will become the leading portable, medical-grade cold storage devices used globally.
Founder and President
“I founded Roemer because of an unmet medical need – mobile refrigeration for blood, vaccines, and medical supplies. Around the world, electricity is not as reliable as it is in the United States, so I switched our focus from the ridiculous need to chill perishables in the desert to providing mobile cold storage for medical supplies. I found out immediately that many industries needed mobile refrigeration when the military immediately started asking for designs and our initial research calls to hospitals showed a demand for mobile refrigeration. From blood supply to pharmaceuticals to Organs and DNA samples, medical cold storage with mobility was an unmet need. And today, we are making a real difference in the healthcare community by reducing waste of blood, plasma, and vaccines while realizing the opportunity to promote solar-powered units in less developed nations. Now the bigger I grow the company the more mobile refrigerators we send to African mission charities. Our ‘Campaign20/200’ pledge is to donate 20 ROAM solar-powered refrigeration units to Africa for every 200 ROAM units we sell. We will do what we can to help chill Africa and the world.”
“I am an inventor by nature. As Chief Engineer at Roemer Industries, I enjoy the freedom to innovate with our customers to solve problems. Every product we have designed was essentially built to solve a problem a customer brought to us. We have solved so many portable cold storage problems after two years that we have a robust product line. If you think you have a unique portable cold storage problem, then let us know so I can build you a customized solution.”
“As we have grown in size, the operations continue to require more and more attention to detail. I enjoy my role and I love the people I work with here at Roemer Industries. We are a family with diverse backgrounds and passion to help improve the world.”
Elizabeth Roemer, Founder and President of Roemer Industries, has been involved in supporting missions with portable cold storage for Africa since 2014. Campaign 20/200 pledges 20 portable, solar powered refrigerators and freezers for every 200 units sold. These units are given to charitable organizations that support medical missions in Africa. Elizabeth says, “I have been to many of the communities in Africa living without electricity and seen the lack of basic medical care such as blood transfusions, vaccines, and antibiotics. My company was built to help the medical and research community transport and store temperature sensitive biologics in unconventional areas. Giving 20 for 200 is our why when you people ask why we do our business.”
